Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Lighthouse Prep — whether on Android or on the web — you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Lighthouse Prep. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you should review these Terms with a parent or guardian.

3. Your Account

3.1 Registration

You may sign in using your Google account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at studytimerpro@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

3.2 Guest Mode

You may use Lighthouse Prep without signing in ("Guest Mode"). In Guest Mode, your data is stored only on your device. We cannot recover guest data if it is lost, and guest data cannot be transferred to another device or to a signed-in account after the session ends.

3.3 Account Accuracy

You agree to provide accurate information and not impersonate another person or use a name that is offensive or violates any third-party rights.

4. Use of the Service

4.1 Permitted Use

Lighthouse Prep is licensed to you for personal, non-commercial exam-preparation use. You may create study plans, track sessions, use AI-generated content, and participate in study groups for your own preparation.

4.2 Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the application or its AI models
• Automate, scrape, or use bots to interact with the Service
• Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security or authentication features
• Upload or share content that is abusive, hateful, defamatory, sexually explicit, or violates third-party rights
• Share your account credentials with others or create multiple accounts to abuse free-trial limits
• Attempt to manipulate leaderboard rankings through fraudulent study-time reporting
• Use the group chat or shared library to distribute spam, malware, or unauthorised copyrighted material

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate accounts that violate these prohibitions, without prior notice.

5. AI-Generated Content

Lighthouse Prep uses artificial intelligence (powered by OpenAI) to generate MCQs, concept explainers, and exam-plan suggestions. This content is provided for educational assistance only.

• AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or outdated information.
• It should not be treated as authoritative or as a substitute for official study materials.
• We make no guarantee that AI-generated MCQs will appear in any actual examination.
• You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of AI-generated content against trusted sources.

6. Tokens and Purchases

6.1 Token System

Certain AI features (MCQs, concept explainers, AI plan generation) consume tokens. A limited number of tokens are provided free of charge. Additional tokens may be purchased through in-app purchase packages.

6.2 Payment

All purchases are processed through our payment gateway (Razorpay or Google Play billing). Prices are displayed in Indian Rupees (INR) unless otherwise stated. You must be authorised to use the payment method you provide.

6.3 Refund Policy

Token purchases are non-refundable once processed, except where required by applicable law. If tokens were not credited to your account due to a technical error, contact us at studytimerpro@gmail.com within 7 days with your payment receipt and we will investigate.

6.4 Free Trial

New accounts receive a 3-day free trial with access to AI features. Trial benefits are available only once per user. Creating multiple accounts to extend trial access is a violation of these Terms.

7. Study Groups

By participating in study groups you agree that:

• Your messages and shared content are visible to all members of the group
• Group admins may remove members or delete content at their discretion
• You will not use group features to harass, spam, or share inappropriate content
• We are not responsible for the content posted by other group members
• We reserve the right to remove groups or content that violate these Terms

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 Our Content

The Lighthouse Prep application, including its design, code, branding, and AI-generated content displayed within the app, is owned by Studytimer Pro or its licensors. You may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our written permission.

8.2 Your Content

You retain ownership of any study notes, plans, or content you create within the app. By uploading content to shared features (group library, chat), you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and store that content solely for the purpose of operating the Service.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure at all times
• AI-generated content is accurate, complete, or suitable for any specific exam
• Using the Service will result in passing any examination

Your use of the Service is entirely at your own risk.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Studytimer Pro shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of data, loss of study progress, or exam failure — arising out of your use or inability to use the Service.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. You may request account deletion by emailing studytimerpro@gmail.com.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, abuse the system, or if we discontinue the Service. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law survive termination.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Tamil Nadu, India.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If changes are material, we will notify you via an in-app message. Continued use of the Service after revised Terms are posted constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
