Lighthouse Prep · Study groups

A private study group for you and the people you prepare with.

Make a group, share its invite code with your friends, and you get one place to talk, see who's really putting the hours in this week, share study plans and keep your notes and PDFs together. Only the people you let in can see inside it.

Study groups are part of Lighthouse Pro. New accounts get a 7-day Pro trial.

Why a group, and not just a chat

A messaging group for exam prep soon fills up with forwards, and the one PDF everyone needs ends up a month up the chat. A study group in Lighthouse Prep keeps the conversation, the plans and the files in separate places, right next to the timer you already study with.

What's inside a group

  • Chat — real-time messages, @mentions that notify the person you tag, and a dot showing who's online.
  • This week's hours — each member's study time this week, taken from their session timer, so nobody has to report it.
  • Shared plans — share any of your plans with "Share to Group", and anyone in the group can copy it into their own exam with one tap and start it fresh.
  • A shared library — PDFs, text files and JPG or PNG images up to 20 MB each, with a preview and a download button on every file.

Joining is by invitation

Every group has its own invite code. Share it with your friends and they tap Join and paste it in. Someone who finds your group by its name can ask to join, and an admin decides. Nothing inside the group, from the chat to the files, is visible to anyone who isn't a member.

Admins keep it useful

Whoever creates the group is its admin and can make other members admins too. Plans and files shared by admins appear straight away; ones shared by other members wait for an admin to approve them, so the library doesn't fill up with duplicates. Admins can pin the best plans and files to the top, and remove members if they need to.

Chat messages are checked against community guidelines before they post, and someone who keeps breaking them is blocked from group chat.

Study hours, not just talk

The members list shows how many hours each person has studied this week, counted by the app's session timer rather than typed in. It's a quiet, honest nudge: you can see who's keeping up without anyone having to ask. You can also send a member a like when they've had a good week.

What it costs

Study groups are part of Lighthouse Pro, and everyone in a group needs Pro or the trial to create or join one. In India, Pro is ₹99 a month or ₹799 a year, doesn't renew automatically, and also removes ads and unlocks the full current affairs. New accounts get a 7-day Pro trial that includes groups, and the rest of the app (your plan, the timer, revision and reports) stays free.

Frequently asked questions

Are study groups free?
No, they're part of Lighthouse Pro: ₹99 a month or ₹799 a year in India, with no automatic renewal. New accounts get a 7-day Pro trial that includes groups. Plans, the timer, revision and reports are free without Pro.
Do my friends need Pro too?
Yes. Creating a group and joining one both need Pro or the trial, so each member needs it.
How do people join?
Share the group's invite code; they tap Join in the Groups tab and paste it in. People can also find a group by its name and send a join request, which an admin approves or declines.
Who can see what we share?
Only the group's members. Messages, shared plans and library files are visible to everyone in the group and to nobody outside it.
What files can we share?
PDFs, text files and JPG or PNG images, up to 20 MB each. Every file gets a preview and a download button.
Can I copy a friend's study plan?
Yes. Open it in the group's Plans tab and enroll: it's copied into your own exam as a new plan, starting fresh.
Do I need to sign in?
Yes. Groups need a Google sign-in, so your groups follow you to any device.
